Don't Beat Around the Ambush

I'll be playing one turn (and one more turn...) of Civ VI: Gathering Storm every day over the next 250 days. Previously on...

The scout in the north continues along the river's bank, while the Phoenician warrior and slinger troops attempt to surround the barbarian encampment and, hopefully, burn it to the ground.

The slingers decide to cut through the jungle, hoping for a defensive bonus if they were to come across any roaming barbarians. Of which they find a band of barbarian warriors hiding in the nearby forest.

The barbarians attack the slingers with such vigor that spearmen guarding the encampment are encouraged to venture out and onto the hills in order surround the Phoenician slinger troop.

This move gives the Phoenician warriors an opportunity to come around Uluru and destroy the barbarian encampment... and any remaining, wandering barbarian troops.

Meanwhile, in Tyre, the local Phoenician government have opted to change the next area for annexation towards the marble deposits in the north. Perhaps, in part, the decision was made because of the barbarian scout across the river from the rice fields, the previously determined expansion spot.

Tyre uses half its coffers to purchase the rice fields across the Beirut River and builds upon it a farm to fill the its streets with life. With so many improvements through its land, the Phoencian commitment to Craftsmanship is inspires the its citizenery.

The Phoenician people continue their dedication to exploration and its protection from the nearby barbarian threats, in the year 3320 BC.
