Cyrus sends Dido and her people a trade emissary carrying fine Persian crafts in hopes of learning more about the Phoenician kingdom. Upon accepting, Dido sends a delegation of her own to Persia, who was received with open arms by Cyrus himself. The Phoenician envoy, however, holds skepticism of how much trust to invest in the Persian king.

To avoid harm, he quickly crosses the river into a nearby forest. There, he comes across a warrior from Yerevan, a nearby pious city-state.
